Victory school Padova

2024 Padova | Professional school for beauticians and hairdressers | Victory Srl | Ph. Andrea Ceriani

  • The new Victory school in Padua is a building that converts an abandoned and disused area into a new space dedicated to teaching and professional training. The project is the result of careful research into the proportions of the spaces and the use of materials such as wood, concrete and exposed brickwork.

The recovery project involved the demolition of almost the entire abandoned building and the entire management building, leaving only the load-bearing skeleton standing and reorganizing the spaces into a two-level structure. The building is characterized by an external portico as high as the entire building composed of vertical wooden blades and concrete partitions that mark the two sides of the perimeter with a double function: a meeting space for children and teachers and a climate filter with the outside.

At the center of the building there is a courtyard with a staircase that allows this open space to be used for collective activities or as an outdoor classroom. The school, dedicated to professional courses for beauticians and hairdressers, is spread over approximately 2900 m2 and hosts 250 students who have classrooms, technical laboratories, a gym and a multipurpose room at their disposal.
